What is geocaching?

A geocache is a ‘box’ at a specific location that contains items to make a note of, games to play or anything really. They can be placed in boxes, magnetic boxes, containers hidden from plain view, etc. They are a bit like a “time capsule” – but one could contain a clue to where the next one is and so on so you are taken on a tour with bits of information about the area.

You can “play” using a mobile app from Google Play or App Store – download the app from this page.

Keep an eye on the GeoCacheing site about the Arboretum!

We will be creating GeoCacheing points around the Arboretum, canal and the Bramblewood Project so while getting a tour of the Arboretum, you get to find the GeoChache and find out more about the area or carry out the task given.

We will be buying things to make our GeoCaches from shops like ukgeocachers and other shops found on geocacehing.com
